Renovating with 2 toddlers!

We are currently renovating our home, started the beginning of February and the end is still a little way off.

We demolished the back half of the house (it was a 3 bedroom,1 living area/dining,1 bathroom outdoor laundry cladded home) and we are turning it into a 4 bedroom, 1 main bathroom, 1 living area, separate dining, LARGE kitchen, new internal laundry, ensuite and walk-in to new main bedroom and a large front and back deck!

It is a HUGE job and it has definitely been a challenge living in such a small space with two little ones. There are days when it feels like we are all tripping over each other constantly and just in each other's way lol. Inside the house currently the kitchen/dining/lounge is all squished into one space the size of what most people would have for just their loungeroom. Random bits of furniture which used to be in the now demolished back of the house has been distributed through the kids bedrooms and ours.

The kids have done a great job at handling all the changes, better than I have thats for sure..... oh to have no care in the world again!

I find if I plan the night before while the kids are in bed things run a lot smoother the next morning, less chaotic. I will lay out their outfits on the lounges and set up activities for the day or at least pull them out and set them aside ready to go as they finish each one.

An average day usually consists of: Playdough creations, Lego castles, Art (whether just drawing or sometimes painting outside depending on the weather), a movie over lunch and if the weather permits a walk to the local park for a play. Oh and dont forget a little trip to the cafe for a baby cino and a relaxing coffee for mummy :-)

Just keep remembering this is only temporary and the end result is going to be amazing - slowly chipping awake at each little job. I really hope come christmas we have a brand new family home that I can show you all.

Here are a few current pictures of some of the things that have been going on.
